KARAMBUJ COLLEGE MAGAZINE
It is great pleasure of Shree K. R. Katara Arts
College, Shamlaji to publish College magazine ‘Karambuj’ every year. Our
college renamed its magazine’s name from Ishan to Karambuj. Karambuj is the
other form of Lord Vishnu. Lord Vishnu’s posture laying on Sheshnag and holding
a lotus in his hand is known as Karamabuj Avtar. The lotus is the symbol of
knowledge and Shamlaji is known as the areas of Lord Vishnu. So Karambuj is named after Lord Vishnu’s
name. It is the literary and social
magazine of the college in which students, college teachers and other literary
persons contribute their creations. ‘Karambuj’ has great educative value. It
encourages the students to think over particular topic and write, thus it helps
them in developing their writing skill and talent. ‘Karambuj’ helps the
students in developing their power of thinking and strengthen their imaginations.
In the beginning of the academic session our college
organizes the exhibition of previous Karambuj magazines and encourages the
students to express their creativity on this platform. After reading the
magazine the students are inspired to think. Our College magazine provides a
scope for writing their articles, poems, essays, stories ect. independently.
‘Karambuj’ facilitates them to meet their creations as good as possible.
Karambuj is an inspiration for students who have some
ideas and thoughts but do not have opportunity to publish their creations. Its
educational value is high and the writers owe to lot to the college magazine.
‘Karambuj’ is called a training ground for the students to express their
thoughts. It establishes a link between the new and the old students. The copy
of magazine serves as a reminiscence of college days for ex- students. The
college magazine instills a sort of competitive spirit in students through
articles on various topics.
Objectives of the practice:
To give opportunity to the students for expressing
their own creative ideas and thoughts in written form.
- To inspire the students for creative taste and habit of study this links the students in their proper study.
- To train the students for better utilization in their free time with concept of time management.
- To develop the sense of loyalty towards the college and feel pride for achievements.
- To develop the self expression in the students and honor for college.
- To improve reading and writing habits of students and through that build their character and personality.
The Practice:
Every year before Annual day celebration our college
publishes the magazine ‘Karambuj’. In the beginning of the academic session
students are motivated by the teachers to write something as poems, stories,
articles, short essays etc. they submit it to the teacher in-charge of college
magazine. It is edited by the Karambuj in-charge, editorial board and New &
senior students of the college. The students of all classes are
invited to contribute their creations as their own
contribution to the college magazine. The teacher-in –charge is assisted by the
students for magazine committee of the college. The editorial board consists –
teacher in-charge, editor, co-editor and students’ representative both boy and
girl. The teacher in-charge collects the creations from the students of
different classes; the editorial board decides to publish the best creations
collected from the students. The creations of the respective teacher published
in magazine provide useful information to the students.
Impact of the Practice
Our college magazine ‘Karambuj’ develop the habit of
writing and inspires the students to express their innovations. One cannot
write something without clear judgment, good knowledge and imaginations.
During the last five year ‘Karambuj’ is continuously
published before the celebration of Annual day and cultural events. Our college
is succeeded in inculcating reading and writing habits among the students. So
many students of the college have achieved a lot from their practice. Many
students have developed the interest of writing and their creations are
published in other magazines and newspaper also.
